A new beginning for New Ferry

Signs Express (Liverpool North & Wirral), based in Bromborough, used its signmaking expertise to add some colour to the brand-new premises of New Beginnings New Ferry CIC’, a recently launched social enterprise designed to help the people of New Ferry following last year’s huge gas explosion.

‘New Beginnings New Ferry CIC’ now offers a wide range of services to the local community, such as a social supermarket selling food and toiletries at a reduced cost, recycled paint, counselling, help with employment, financial management courses and much more.

Following a year of fundraising, Its premises, which were officially opened in March by Alison McGovern MP and Steve Rotherham, Metro Mayor of Liverpool City region, include training and meeting rooms, communal spaces and display areas for local arts and crafts.

The organisation relies heavily on the assistance of volunteers, donations and local businesses such as Signs Express, which donated a range of signage, including a smart new fascia sign, window graphics and plaques.

John McEntee, Director of Signs Express (Liverpool North & Wirral) commented: “We are delighted to support New Ferry New Beginnings following the gas explosion that devastated the community and left local residents and businesses displaced. We wish them every success in providing such an invaluable service to the local people and will continue to support them whenever we can.”
