All aboard the Polar Express

Telford-based Western Signs & Printing recently selected Antalis’ Coala Frontlit Standard banner material for a project with magical qualities – the transformation of Telford Steam Railway for an adaptation of the family-favourite festive film, The Polar Express.

Telford Steam Railway, which has recently been nominated for a Heritage Railway Award, is run by volunteers and funded solely by paying guests. In a bid to attract more visitors, Western Signs & Printing was called upon to create designs to fashion the existing site into a Polar Express winter wonderland.

Cue the choice of Antalis’ Coala Frontlit Standard, which was used to create 140 metres of Polar Express scenery that ran either side of the train track.  As well as being tear and fade resistant, Coala Frontlit Standard has an outdoor durability that can withstand the vagaries of British winter weather and delivers excellent printed results.

The event signage was crafted from 50 metres of Coala 1d, which was used to wrap 4mm white Correx, all of which was printed on a Roland DG VersaExpress RF-640 large format printer to provide a superb finish.
