Adding speed and quality

Adding speed and quality

Whilst everyone within the wide format sector now fully appreciates the versatility and opportunities offered by digital printing technology, outside the sector there is perhaps less recognition of the benefits, especially as far as the general public is concerned.

However, one business that is definitely benefitting from having a more open-minded approach is Kaymar Print. Based in Preston and originally established in 1946, the company is a privately owned printing service that runs under the management of Mark Brindle, who has retained key personnel with many years of printing expertise. Whilst offering both litho and screenprinting services, Kaymar also employs state-of-the-art technology to complement these traditional processes.

Mark is particularly proud of his latest investment, which has lead to Kaymar becoming one of the very first companies to install a new Mimaki CJV150-107.  Heexplained; “With almost seven decades of experience in the print sector, we’ve developed considerable levels of expertise in a wide range of different print disciplines, but we’re always looking for new and exciting ways to diversify so that we can offer our customers more interesting and creative solutions.”

Kaymar’sfirst foray into digital printing was the acquisition of a couple of Konica sheet fed machines that produced both monotone and coloured output but, as Mark regards speed is of paramount importance, he was very keen to add the new Mimaki machine.

He continued:  “The team at Granthams in Preston was particularly helpful in explaining the individual benefits of the various machines, but the CJV150-107 just stood out as the perfect tool for our needs. The ease with which it can produce banners and large format posters of the very highest quality, plus its speed and accuracy, make it a really effective piece of kit, which is both productive and highly profitable. Furthermore the versatility offered by  itsprint and cut capability also enables us to produce PVC labelling and self adhesive stickers for our customers with real ease.”

Kaymar has developed a very eclectic mix of customersover the years, which ranges from sole-traders, right up to large corporate businesses and public sector organisations. The company’s development into high quality digital print has also opened up new revenue streams, by enabling it to produce items as diverse as large format signage and reflective road safety signage.

Mark Brindle concluded: “As a commercial print supplier we need to continually raise our game and the CJV150-107’s combination of speed, quality, and multiple functionalityhas proved to be a real winner for us.We’re really proud to be one of the first businesses in the UK to be reaping the benefits of its versatility.”
