Agfa, Durst, Mimaki, Mutoh and Roland all win EDP Awards
Every year, since 2007 the European Digital Press Association, made up from 21 of Europe’s leading trade magazines focussing on digital production processes, unite to evaluate, judge and honour the best technological developments within the last 12 months.
This year, as previously, the awards were announced and presented at FESPA Global Print Expo, which took place recently in Munich, with a clutch of well-known industry names receiving plaudits for their latest equipment offerings.
The winning entries included Durst’s P5 350 printing system, which triumphed in the EDP Flatbed/Hybrid Printer 250 sqm/hr category, with the EDP Technical Committee particularly remarking on the machine’s reel loading and material handling capabilities, as well as commending Durst’s foresight for meeting topical needs in the market with the introduction of Durst Analytics preemptive diagnostics and advanced software.

Agfa’s Jeti Tauro H3300 LED inkjet printer added yet another award to its already impressive track record, picking up the award in the EDP Large & Wide Format Printing Systems Flatbed/Hybrid Printer 250m²/hr category. According to the EDP’s Technical Committee, the Jeti Tauro H3300 LED “combines print quality, low ink consumption and productivity with short make-ready times and sets new standards”. It added: “Thanks to the rapid UV LED curing of Agfa’s signature high-pigmented UV inks and the Asanti software, this hybrid UV inkjet workhorse exceeds expectations every time.”

Roland DG won the award in the EDP Print & Cut Solution category in respect of its new TrueVIS VG2 series eco-solvent printer/cutter, which launched in March this year. The EDP Technical Committee was particularly impressed by the system’s breadth of colour gamut, optimised colour accuracy and colour reproduction capability, plus a host of technological advancements that combine to deliver high-precision print and cut performance.

Mimaki celebrated winning two awards. The first in respect of the Mimaki Tiger-1800B MkII in the EDP textile printer roll-to-roll more than 100 sq m/h’ category, and the second for its Rimslow TR Series complete solution, in the EDP Pre- and Postpress-Treatment Solutions category.
As part of the Tiger Pro Series, the Tiger-1800B MkII is a high-volume textile printer for direct printing or paper transfer with a print speed of up to 385sq m/h, at up to 1,200 x 1,200dpi. This enables users to produce extremely high-quality products without the need to compromise on production and throughput. When used in conjunction with the Rimslow TR Series of coating, printing, steaming and washing machines, it offers a complete textile printing solution.
