All a shimmer at Nando’s
Shimmerdisc, one of Britain’s most innovative printing companies, has recently completed the installation of a multi-sequinned display for fast food restaurant Nando’s.
The company uses its own brand new printing and product technology, to produce eye-catching signs and displays that have an almost 3D effect, coupled with amazing animation.
Shimmerdisc has most recently used this technology to produce a glimmering fascia display for Nando’s new restaurant in London’s Soho. Spanning over 30 metres and using a total of170,000 sequins printed on an Agfa Anapurna Wide-Format UV printer, the display is a real attention grabber.
Andrew Aigne, the founder and inventor of Shimmerdisc explained; “With so many moving parts, the illuminated display is constantly changing and when further complemented by night-time street lighting, the effect is simply stunning!”
Shimmerdisc produces photographic quality displays using a patented optically clear module and printed sequins. Each module is reverse printed and optically clear, while each disc is individually printed using a full-colour palette, including white to add depth, to create pixel-perfect images.
Andrew Aigne reports that new variations of Shimmerdisc are now in the pipeline and include a modular curtain system and wooden sequins for use when a more rustic looking display is required.
