Applelec celebrates 15th anniversary
As well as celebrating 15 years of successful trading, Applelec has also just announced that its 2012 turnover was 44 percent up on the previous year.
In the past twelve months, the company has grown rapidly, following the opening of both its Leeds factory and the self-financed expansion to its Bradford head office complex, where its award-winning LED Light Sheet product is manufactured in purpose built antistatic rooms.
In addition, and despite the current difficult trading conditions, it has also created 16 new jobs during the last year, the most recent appointment being that of Colin Holmes, who has recently taken up the role of Operations Manager. As his first objective, Colin will be implementing new production procedures, including a job tracking system.
To further commemorate its benchmark year, Applelec recently launched a new company logo and a new website, which features product information, case studies and a ‘meet the team’ area. The design was 50 percent funded by the Bradford Chamber of Commerce Rising Stars scheme, which supports local businesses that create jobs and demonstrate a high potential for business growth, following a successful grant application by Applelec in late 2012.
