AXYZ to demonstrate Trident print finishing system

On Stand GO9 at The Print Show, AXYZ International will demonstrate the Trident hybrid CNC routing and knife-cutting print finishing system.

This powerful production workhorse combines routing and cutting capabilities in a single machine, thereby obviating the need for large-format graphics and print finishing specialists to invest in two separate machines to carry out these functions.

Trident has been developed to help resolve issues frequently encountered by both sectors and in particular the need to process an ever increasing range of different rigid and flexible media that invariably require a wider, deeper and longer routing/cutting capability. The machine claims to increase output by as much as 50 per cent by comparison with standard CNC routers.

The machine provides a three-pronged processing configuration (routing spindle and oscillating/tangential knife combination) that works efficiently and harmoniously to handle materials that might prove too challenging for traditional CNC routers. Due to this triple-head configuration, it is now possible to process virtually any flexible and/or rigid substrate, including materials as diverse as aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, aluminium composite materials (ACM), acrylic and plastics, foamed and corrugated board, vinyl, cardboard and paper.

Other key design features of Trident include a rigid steel frame construction to better accommodate more vigorous machine operation, an exclusive live vacuum deck that provides a maximum material hold-down capability and an integrated helical rack and pinion drive system. This latter feature ensures more even distribution of the workload and radically reduced machine wear, leading to enhanced routing/cutting precision and ultimately a longer than normal machine life. Trident also incorporates readily interchangeable blade attachments that can be as long as 12mm to enable the processing of harder, heavier and thicker materials.

The Print Show takes place at Telford’s International Centre on 11th-13th October, where it is co-located with SignLink Live.
