Canon’s UVgel on its way
Canon has introduced its new UVgel printing technology, which will soon feature in a new line of roll-to-roll printers where it will offer an unprecedented combination of productivity, image quality, application range, automation and low cost of operation.
Especially designed to address the limitations of eco-solvent and latex printing, by enabling more ink to be jetted onto media more quickly, this new technology will power an upcoming generation of roll-to-roll printers that will help sign and print companies to increase their print production efficiency, while also lowering their operating costs.
The key elements and benefits of the UVgel technology include its ability to instantly gel on contact with media, thus resulting in precise dot placement and area control, ultra-thin ink dispersion with almost no discernible physical profile and the lowest ink consumption rate, plus a wide colour gamut, combined with significant environmental advantages.
Canon’s new UVgel printing technology will be at the core of a family of new roll-to-roll printing products, the first of which will be a high productivity 64” roll-to-roll printer that will be released in the Spring of 2017.
