Chiplite LED lighting offers lower-cost neon alternative
Following the recent launch of the CL-FLEXO LED lighting solution, German-based Majert has now added the complementary CL-NEON FLEX LED system to its family of high-performance Chiplite LED modules.
The distinguishing feature of this latest system is that it synthesises and simulates the power and effect of neon, but at a fraction of the cost and without the attendant problems of higher voltage, power consumption and increased maintenance requirements associated with more expensive neon and traditional fluorescent lighting systems.
Available in a choice of two configurations (flat-faced and curved), the CL-NEON FLEX system is based on a dual-colour silicon extrusion incorporating diffused silicon lens and a thermal conductive base. The system is inherently flexible in application, easy to install, requires virtually zero maintenance and can be used for a wide range of applications, including interior building and sign outline lighting Typically, the system requires only 12W/m and provides a life cycle of 50,000 hours.
In common with all Chiplite LED solutions, CL-NEON FLEX also meets and invariably exceeds the requirements of relevant BS/EN safety and performance standards. It carries RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) certification, a CE rating in accordance with the electrical lighting devices standard BS 55015 and an IP67 rating to BS EN 60529 covering the sealing efficiency of electrical enclosures against the ingress of dirt, water, salt mist and other contaminants. CL-NEON FLEX also complies fully with the L7OB50 flammability standard and the UL 94 VO standard covering fire safety compliance on plastic components.
