Clicks invests in ‘next-generation’ Truepress Jet W3200UV with high-speed dual flat-bed/roll print capability

Clicks has bought a Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV wide-format printer with dual flatbed/roll-to-roll capability in order to add significant capacity and flexibility to its large format service operation.

The new combination printer, which was launched at FESPA 2015, will be in full production at Clicks’s 20,000 sq.ft central London facility shortly.

Whist celebrating his new investment at FESPA this week, Alan Rigglesford, Clicks’ Managing Director, said: “It’s important to our business and our clients that we use the very latest technology to deliver a first rate print/finish/installation service. Our Production Director, Graham Leggett spent six months researching all the latest 3.2m wide printers available, before deciding on the Screen Truepress Jet, as it offers both true flat-bed and true roll-to-roll operation at speeds of up to at 150sqm/hr! Quite simply, no other printer delivers the same level of productivity and flexibility.”

The new high-speed Truepress Jet W3200UV (eight-colour – CMYKLcLmWW) prints both roll and flat substrates. It replaces two older flatbed printers plus  a roll to roll wide format machine  and joins the Click’s  line-up that comprises a variety of other small and large-format digital printers.

Alan Rigglesford continued “There are lots of benefits: we are replacing three printers with just one that can handle both roll and flat substrate jobs – but at twice the speed – and thus we free up valuable floor space to accommodate more finished jobs ready for despatch. Our customers expect ever faster turnaround times and we are now equipped to fulfil orders extremely quickly.”

Clicks specialises in the production of creative displays for retail, OOH and exhibitions and Alan Rigglesford went on to explain:  “Retailers particularly like to achieve different effects. We enjoy a challenge and are always exploring new techniques, materials, inks, textures and finishes, which is another reason why we chose the Truepress Jet. Not only is the quality first rate, giving us the ability to print sharp fine text, solid flat tints, plus 1-8 advanced multilayers and 75lpi lenticulars, we can also print on a diverse range of materials, ranging from ultra-light newsprint all the way through to heavyweight metals if we wish.”
