Durst appoints new CEO

Barbara Schulz has been appointed as CEO by Durst Digital Technology in Lienz, Austria and will join the Executive Board of Durst Phototechnik Digital Technology.

She succeeds Klaus Schneider, who died in a fatal accident last spring.

Barbara Schulz previously worked for Ipsen, the German-American global market leader in thermal process technology, where she was the CEO of Ipsen subsidiaries in South East Asia and India. This role followed various management positions at ESK Ceramics GmbH, a leading manufacturer of high performance ceramics.

Commenting on her appointment, Barbara Schulz sad: “I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to take on probably the most demanding management position in my home state. The opportunity to lead one of the most innovative, global companies in Austria and to implement its strategy of continuous profitable growth is one which rarely comes along and although Durst’s plans regarding its long term strategy are as challenging as they are exciting, I am inspired by the great commitment which the company has to this region.”

Dr. Richard Piock, the Chairman of the Administrative Board and founder of Durst Lienz, said: “We are very much looking forward to working with Mrs Schulz. Her many years of experience in international management in all the markets which are important to the Durst Group, combined with the fact that East Tirol is her home region, mean that she is an exceptionally good fit with us.”
