Here comes summer!
Westfield’s two London major shopping centres, located at Shepherd’s Bush and Olympic Park, have both been treated to a specialsummer revamp, following the installation of 2,000 square metres of printed graphicsacross their façades.
The project, which marked the beginning of the shopping centres’ summer campaign, was completed by Hollywood Monster, which used its EFI VUTEk GS3200 and EFI VUTEk GS2000, the latter of which was recently supplied by EFI’s UK distributor CMYUK.
First established in 2009, following the amalgamation of the sister companies Hollywood Signs and Monster Digital, Hollywood Monster is now one of the largest graphicproviders operating within the Midlands and produces high quality graphics to clients all over the UK with canny combination of high-tech printing equipment and installation expertise helping it to attract clients such as Westfield, M&S and Virgin.
Although the initial artwork was approved within 24 hours and it took a further day to print and transport the graphics, the actual installation lasted for four nights and necessitated the use of three access ladder crane machines.
Hollywood Monster’s Simon McKenzie commented: “We used sixty, thirteen metre drops, each measuring one and a half metres wide for the façades and it was crucial that the overall appearance of the design remained consistent across surfaces that included both concrete and stonework.”
The end result is an appealing jungle themed scene, which will hopefully do its bit in encouraging customers to focus on the acquisition of the full range of sunshine appropriate clothing, accessories and ancillary products!
