Following its official launch at the ongoing ISA EXPO in Las Vegas, HP has now revealed further details on its PageWide XL printer portfolio that it previewed at last month’s Sign & Digital UK show.
HP PageWide XL Printers do the job of two printers in one single device, providing both monochrome and colour prints at breakthrough speeds up to 60 percent faster than the fastest monochrome light-emitting diode (LED) printer.
Until now, the production printing market has traditionally been led by monochrome-only LED printers, requiring the use of large-format inkjet printers to address colour work. However the new PageWide XL printers consolidate workflow to deliver mixed black-and-white and colour prints in half the time it would take to manually collate documents produced on multiple printers and will thus enable enterprising companies to produce CAD drawings, maps, POS material and posters speedily and cost effectively and to open up new revenue streams in the process.
HP PageWide XL Printers are the first products introduced under the new HP PageWide sub-brand. Based on proven HP PageWide Technology, which currently powers HP Inkjet Web Presses, HP business printers and will be scaled for upcoming HP 3D Multi Jet Fusionprinters, the new portfolio delivers on the announcement made last year, providing low operation costs driven by life-long printheads, high ink efficiency and cloud-based support.
The HP PageWide XL Printer portfolio includes the HP PageWide XL 8000 Printer, which offers speeds of up to 30 D/A1 size prints per minute, as well as two 775 ml ink cartridges per colour with automatic switching and up to six rolls (in excess of 1,200 metres) of media.
Other options include the PageWide XL 5000 Printer which outputs up to 14 D/A1 size prints per minute and features two 400ml ink cartridges per colour, with automatic switching and up to four rolls of media; the XL4500, which outputs 12 D/A1 size prints per minute and the XL 400 which produces 8 D/A1 size prints per minute.
