Interactive features confirmed for FESPA Eurasia, 2017

FESPA has confirmed the features programme for FESPA Eurasia, which takes place on 7th-10th December 2017 at the CNR Expo in Istanbul, Turkey.

Visitors to this year’s event will benefit from an interactive Signage Demo workshop hosted by ARED, FESPA’s Turkish member Association, as well as the FESPA World Wrap Masters Eurasia workshop and competition. Taking place four times a day for the duration of the show it will focus on traditional signmaking techniques.

Visiting will be able to enjoy sign painting, hosted by experienced signmaker, Hasan Gürşan, who will demonstrate the traditional art of signage using sheet metal, oil paints and brushes. Visitors to the workshop will also receive a personalised painted name sign.

Also on show will be chrome lettering, where Edip Şirvan, the owner of Şirvan Reklam will show visitors how they can produce eco-friendly, recyclable, EU-compatible lettering using chrome, and Plexiglas box letters, where Aydın İlkkan of Cevizlibağ Reklam, will offer visitors tips on how they can produce stand-out box letters, and will also host the Pixel LED Workshop, which will illustrate how signmakers can make LED bulbs

Şenay İpek, General Coordinator, at ARED commented: “While the global signmaking community is seeing developments in live media, in Turkey there is still a huge demand for traditional signage techniques. Through our Signage Demo workshop we want to show how signmakers across this region can produce eye-catching signage applications using established techniques.”

FESPA’s worldwide vehicle wrap event, The World Wrap Masters, will also return to Eurasia with a workshop and live head-to-head competition. Sponsored by Hexis, the feature will run on all four days of the event. The workshops, which will take place on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th December, will be hosted by World Wrap Masters judge Ole Solskin Ravn and the competition will take place on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December.

The workshop on 7th December will be relevant for entry-level vehicle wrappers and will provide visitors with top tips and the basic application techniques to help them get started in vehicle wrapping. During the session, visitors will also have the opportunity to wrap part of a vehicle themselves.

For visitors with existing vehicle wrapping experience, the medium-advanced level workshop on 8th December will show the latest techniques and approaches to wrapping and will look in more detail at tackling difficult vehicle areas. The workshop will also highlight how installers can use less vinyl in less time to achieve the best results and improve the profitability of wrap jobs.

On the final two days, the World Wrap Masters Eurasia competition will take place, culminating in the final on Sunday 10th December. During the competition up to 16 wrappers will battle it out wrapping a variety of objects, including cars and helmets, to win the title of Wrap Master Eurasia. The winner will be awarded a cash prize and the chance to compete in the World Wrap Masters Series Final that will take place at FESPA’s 2018 Global Print Expo in Berlin, Germany, from 15th-18th May 2018.

Wrap expert and World Wrap Masters Judge, Ole Solskin Ravn commented: ” Since my first time at FESPA Eurasia the wrap and vinyl market has grown with new regional and international brands entering the space. The workshops at FESPA Eurasia will be a great platform to work with budding wrappers and to highlight optimum techniques and tools that they can use to become the best in the business. The competition element is always a crowd favourite and I’m sure this year’s event will be no different.”
