Investing in new markets
The recent investment Echo Studios, a leading design and production house, made in a Fujifilm Acuity Advance Select UV flatbed printer is already helping it to realise its ambition to branch out into different markets.
Echo Studios first saw the Fujifilm Acuity Advance Select UV at FESPA Digital 2014, having originally gone to the show in order to look at another machine, but as the company’s Creative Director, Dan Johnson, explained: “As soon as we saw the Acuity Advance and the fantastic quality and range of applications it can deliver, we were ready to buy on the spot.”
Established in 1994 as an art-working studio, Echo has been a production house for the past 18 years specialising in the luxury brands market as well as the high end museum and exhibition sector. The company’s recent relocation to a 25,000 sq ft. facility in Surbiton, South West London, has enabled it to offer a full service of creative design and art-working, print production and installation, and since the Acuity Advance was installed at the end of July, the benefits the it has delivered have already become apparent.
Dan Johnson continued: “It delivers incredible quality print, and enables us to produce applications we weren’t able to create previously. The spot UV varnish means we can now print prototypes of exceptional quality, whilst the device’s accurate drop placement provides us with the scope we need to scope to produce more detailed layered prints.”
He concludes: “We’ve already had great feedback from existing clients, and have actually won new business that we previously wouldn’t have pitched for – all because of the Acuity Advance Select. I don’t know what we ever did without it!”
