It’s simply the best for Webb Print & Display
Since Redditch-based start-up Webb Print & Display (WP&D) invested in an EFI VUTEk h3 printer from CMYUK, which it has used to produce several nationwide retail campaigns, thus generating more forward momentum for the business, and attracting new clients in the process.

The EFI VUTEk h3 joins two Latex printers, a laminator and a Kongsberg digital cutting table. Michael Corless, owner and Director of Webb Print & Display, revealed: “The VUTEk h3 is the backbone of our operation. Having looked at various printers we kept coming back to it. The h3 ticks all the boxes, and although we have print partners should we ever need them for full-scale jobs, we just haven’t required them as everything can pretty much go through the h3.

“What I like about the VUTEk is the fact that its different speeds and settings make it incredibly versatile. Since we knew that it would have to accommodate a wide variety of work, we needed a machine that would strike the right balance between speed and quality, while also easily enabling our operators to switch from job to job as required. We wanted a hybrid machine that offered the 3.2m width and the fact that there is an upgrade path to the h5 will enable us to transition to the wider width without having to make another investment in a new machine.

Undoubtedly, starting a new business in a pandemic has its own challenges, but ten months in, the company is gaining traction. Mike is a seasoned print professional and has fashioned his new company to reflect the best practice he has witnessed and implemented throughout his 25-year-plus career.

He said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the smartest people in our trade, and throughout my time in print, I’ve seen what makes businesses work top to bottom.”

WP&D is a creative printer that can scale up and roll-out full national campaigns. It has a wide reach, servicing retail, events, pop-up shops, office fit-outs and more. Mike is clearly mindful of how the pandemic has decimated certain sectors, damaging those companies which had an over-dependency in some market sectors.

He observed: “I don’t think any print company will want to specialise in just one sector. Whatever our customers need we can produce. From full campaign rollouts, to bespoke one-off events, we’re equipped to provide whatever is needed.

“Amira Bouchiba [CMYUK’s Training Academy Manager] was our main point of contact at CMYUK and the person we speak to the most. Every time we have picked up the phone, she always answers and gets back to us. Dealing with Amira, or any of the team has been fantastic, and that says a lot about the quality of CMYUK’ staff.”

WP&D is gaining momentum as it marches towards its first anniversary. Mike concluded: “We’ve created a team that can deliver. If a customer asked for a store fit-out and wanted to know what it’s going to look like, we can create flat visuals, 3D visuals and a fully interactive, virtual store, without going to a design agency. All of us at WP&D are creative and we’re used to making and building things.

“With our h3 printer we print the same quality, whether our customer is a world-renowned brand or a local business. That‘s something we’re passionate about, and now that we have harnessed the power of the h3 we have no excuses – it’s the best or nothing from us!”
