Leek Signs creates a Winter Wonderland

A sackful of sign and display work by Leek Signs will transform London’s Hyde Park this festive season.

Staffordshire-based Leek Signs & Graphics celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, having evolved from a signmaker relying on vinyl-cut lettering to a wide format specialist that services the design and print needs of a wide range of customers, including those operating within the theme park and public events sector.

Leek Signs has undertaken one such commission, the provision of bespoke flat-board and 3D displays and banners for the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland event, for the past three years. This year, much of this Christmassy array was printed on a Roland TrueVIS VG-640 wide-format inkjet printer/cutter set up in seven-colour ink configuration running Nazdar 204 series inks, which was delivered this autumn by QPS, an authorised dealer of Roland printers and Nazdar inks.

Mat Burrows, a Director at Leek Signs, explained: “The new printer has replaced a Roland SOLJET Pro III XC-540 printer/cutter that we installed in 2011. It was still a good machine but Chris Bailey at QPS proposed a great offer for an ex-demo TrueVIS VG-640 with Nazdar inks so it was the right time to upgrade.

“We are really impressed with the new TrueVIS VG-640. The quality of the print is superb and the colours are nice and vibrant too!”

Nazdar 204 Series digital imaging inks have been developed specifically for use in Roland TrueVIS SG and VG series systems using OEM inks. As a plug-and-play formulation with excellent chemical and colour compatibility, 204 Series ink cartridges can replace OEM inks as they run out with no need to flush. This saves on consumables costs and downtime, with no loss of quality.
