Majert extends its Chiplite range

Majert extends its Chiplite range
Since 1999, Germany-based Majert has been a pioneering force in the advancement of LED lighting technology. The company has provided the UK and Continental Europe sign industries with a number of innovative products under the now familiar Chiplite brand.

Two important recent developments have been the addition of the 24V XOL and Neon Flex Easy LED modules, with the former claiming to have set a new standard for the sign industry in terms of increased lighting efficiency, reduced power consumption and a consequent higher ROI. Further expanding the X-Series of LED modules, the 24V XOL module measures 57 x 17mm, has a power consumption of only 0.36W and provides a lighting efficiency of 165 lumens per watt, thus equating to a 25 percent increase over standard 12V modules.

As a result of the 50 percent lower current flow, it is now possible to halve the LED cable cross-section to enable longer cable distances. Furthermore, the new lenses now incorporated in the 24V XOL system means fewer modules are required, without any reduction in lighting efficiency. This latest addition to the X-Series is ideal for multiple illuminated signage applications, including backlit lettering and lightboxes from 50mm in depth. All modules in the X-Series come with a five-year performance warranty.

Ideal for interior sign lettering, Neon Flex Easy faithfully replicates the effects of traditional neon but at a fraction of the cost. It can be used to back-illuminate letters up to a height of 80mm and is available in a choice of 12 vibrant colours and in a thickness of either six or eight millimetres. The operating voltage is 12V and the power consumption just nine watts per metre of LED cable. The sign is delivered fully assembled and wired on either a solid or contour-cut clear acrylic carrier sheet and requires only connection to a power supply to become operational. Neon Flex Easy is supplied with a two-year performance warranty.

All modules in the Chiplite range are CE-marked and meet all relevant BS/EN safety and performance standards, including RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) certification and a CE rating in accordance with the lighting devices standard BS/EN 55015. They also have an IP65 rating to BS/EN 60529 covering the sealing efficiency of electrical enclosures against the ingress of water, salt, dirt and other pollutants.

Typically, all Chiplite modules are capable of reducing power consumption by as much as 70 percent, thus adding to their overall cost-effectiveness. They are also much easier to install and maintain and due to their low-voltage requirement are safer and more environmentally friendly by comparison with alternative lighting systems.
