Mimaki launches two new UV print and cut systems
Mimaki has launched the UCJV300-160 and UCJV150-160 roll-to-roll LED UV printing and cutting solutions, which are designed to add creativity to the production of signs and display graphics, while also maintaining Mimaki’s signature affordability and ease of use.
In addition, the company is also introducing a brand new, environmentally friendly ink, LUS-170, which is guaranteed to ensure vibrant, eye-catching output.
The UCJV Series is available in two models; the four colour UCJV150-160 and the UCJV300-160, which can accommodate up to seven ink colours in cost effective one-litre bottles. It also features a four-layer day/night printing process that enables designers to build layered, transformative graphics for use with backlit applications. This makes it possible to produce a dynamic graphic that morphs its image or colour scheme depending on the available light source.
Both machines can be used to produce a wide variety of print and cut applications, while the LED UV curing technology permits the use of an expanded range of materials, including uncoated print media and many thin film substrates that may be too heat sensitive for use with latex or solvent ink high heat fixations systems.
The new UCJV Series also features an integrated cutting functionality that delivers volume production of labels, decals, window clings, floor graphics, POP displays, vehicle markings, packaging, prototypes and more in a single unit. Additionally, UV ink technology prevents common problems, such as film separation and other issues related to post-cutting that can occur with solvent and latex inks.
Output from the Mimaki UCJV Series is instantly cured at even the highest production speeds, while the highly scratch resistant UV print can also eliminate the need for additional finishing processes, thus further reducing production time and the associated costs.
The new UCJV Series printers will ship with updated RasterLink6 plus RIP software. This new, feature-rich version of the popular MimakiRasterLink RIP software includes an ID Cut function to make printing and cutting easier and faster. They also include a range of Mimaki Core Technologies, such as Advanced Pass System 4 (MAPS4), which uses an advanced algorithm pattern to reduce visible banding andMimaki Circulation Technology (MCT), which continuously agitates the white inks to prevent settling.
These new machines, which will be available during the fourth quarter of 2017, will make their UK debut on the stand of Mimaki’s exclusive UK and Irish distributor, Hybrid Services, at The Print Show, on 11th–13th October at the International Centre in Telford.
