Mimaki wins two EDP Awards at FESPA 2018

Mimaki has received two awards from the European Digital Press Association (EDP), the first relating to its UCJV300-160 printer, and the second in respect of its 3DUJ-553 full-colour 3D printer.

The awards are presented by 21 of Europe’s leading digital printing trade magazines, which come together to honour the best technological developments among products and other developments announced or presented within the previous 12 months.

Mimaki’s new UCJV300 Series printers, which includes the UCJV300-160, was judged to be the winner in the ‘Best roll-to-roll printer up to 170 cm’ category. It offers in-line cutting capabilities and features layered print technology, such as four-layer and five-layer for transitional or double facing images. Prints are instantly-cured, at even the highest production speeds, thus enabling customers to quickly print and immediately move to the finished product. In addition, the Greenguard Gold certified LUS-170 inks are environmentally friendly and energy efficient. The flexibility of the ink makes it ideal for use in a wide range of applications, including those with curved surfaces, such as vehicle graphics.

The Mimaki 3DUJ-553 3D printer was recognised as the ‘Best 3D additive full-colour printer’. It is unique in its colour capabilities, having the ability to produce more than 10 million colours in layers as fine as 19 microns. Its water-soluble support material can be easily washed off when the object has been produced, saving time and reducing the possibility of damaging the object. The availability of clear ink adds an extra dimension to printed pieces for an enhanced appearance.

Commenting on the awards, Danna Drion, Marketing Manager EMEA at Mimaki Europe, said: “We are honoured to once again be a recipient of these prestigious awards and  appreciate the time and effort the editors put into reviewing more than 120 entries,
