Mimaki’s CJV150 printer/cutter series picks up EDP award

The Mimaki CJV150 has been recognised at FESPA 2015 with a European Digital Press Association (EDP) award for ‘Best Print and Cut Solution’.

Mike Horsten, General Manager Marketing of Mimaki EMEA, accepted the award for the CJV150 Series, which brings simultaneous print/cut operations to an affordable entry-level printer, at a special presentation ceremony held during the show.

He said: “We are delighted to be recognised once again by the EDP for our continuing efforts to bring innovative products to the digital printing market. The CJV150 Series, which is both affordable and compact enough to fit into even the most space-constrained environments, is the most versatile printer in our portfolio and reflects our ability to deliver market-tailored solutions that enhance the creativity of our customers and their ability to deliver exceptional results.”

First unveiled last autumn, the CJV150 Series features a newly-developed staggered printhead that delivers a wider print swathe and ink drops ranging from four pl to 35 pl for high-resolution printing. Continuous register mark detection facilitates the continuous cutting of an entire roll of media, while simultaneously taking up unrolled media. Further, zero margin register marks reduce media consumption by eliminating the margins between register marks, for less waste of costly media.

The CJV150, which delivers print speeds of up to 56.2 square metres per hour, can be used in conjunction with both solvent and water-based sublimation inks, while the newly developed silver ink, that delivers a brightness 1.67 times greater than that of conventional silver inks, facilitates the production of high value-added printing and mirror effect results that exceed conventional expectations.Further, it also enables the production of more than 648 colours in the metallic colour collection.

Quick-drying SS21 orange and light black inks are also available, thus further extending the wide range of sign and display applications that can be created.

Every one of the flatbed, solvent and textile printers shown on the Mimaki stand during FESPA 2015 has been a previous EDP Award winner, leading Mike Horsten to conclude: “With 40 years of continual innovation and development to draw on, we take enormous pride in being able to show only award-winning products at FESPA!”
