MTEX’s range of direct-to-textile digital print solutions attracted interest from a broad spectrum of customers when the company exhibited at the recent Heimtextil 2015 exhibition at Messe Frankfurt.

Commenting on the success of his company’s showing, Eloi Ferreira, CEO of MTEX said: “While our flagship 5032Pro drew a crowd every day, our new Vision printer and the PAD pre-coating machine also proved very popular.

“The Vision went down very well with potential customers in the apparel and interiors markets, largely due to its ability to print directly onto stretch fabrics using the dye sub option.

“It’s designed as an alternative production method to transfer printing, and has created a lot of excitement.  However, we also had a lot of interest in the PAD coating machine from traditional textile companies that wanted to learn more about coating their own media.”

The 1.85m MTEX Vision offers direct printing onto stretch fabrics delivering vibrant colours and deep dense blacks. There’s no paper involved, with print and fix being part of one overall process. The Ricoh Gen 5 printheads print up to 1200 dpi and there are both four and eight colour configurations to chose from. The Vision is available now with direct disperse inks for use with polyester and a second version will be available later for use with a pigment ink set for use in conjunction with polycotton/natural fibre fabrics.

The MTEX PAD is designed to pre-treat and coat materials with production speeds of between 30 and 140 linear metres per hour. There are two coating options of immersion (or foulard), or a surface coating, and the infrared drying system delivers fully dried fabrics.

It can be used in-line with the MTEX 500, MTEX Vision and MTEX Turbo 1.8m wide printers, thus effectively enabling users to coat their own media prior to printing.

EloiFerreira continued:  “The direct-to-textile market is already showing strong growth, and we believe that it will really take off this year.

“With MTEX’s high manufacturing standards, coupled with competitive pricing, we believe we’ve now developed a range that will support both traditional companies wanting to modernise their processes and those entrepreneurs that are investing in entry level printer so that they can capitalise on the growing demand for interior décor and textiles.”
