MX Display floors it!
With headquarters in both Derby and London, MX Display specialises in the provision of a wide range of graphics and wayfinding signage, so when London’s City Hall needed some large format floor graphics to provide a visual centrepiece at an upcoming event, it was the ideal company to fulfil the brief.
The floor graphic was required for a special one-day event designed to promote an environmental initiative and publicise the air quality –or lack of it – in our capital city, following the announcement by Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, that he was aiming to cut toxic air at 50 of London’s most polluted schools.
Mr Khanwas initially inspired in this endeavour by a plea fromschool pupilswho urged him to continue fighting air pollution in the capital
Accordingly,City Hall commissioned MX Display to print and install a 10 x 15 metre floor graphicfeaturing a map that illustrated the pollution levels in London.MX Display’s creative team recommended its Photo Floor product as being the most appropriate material for the job.
A lightweight and highly portable PVC and polyester flooring, suitable for one-off use at exhibitions, events and short term promotions, Photo Floor can also be rolled up and reused at future events. Depending on the level of footfall, it offers an impressive level of resistance and under foot comfort, together with the acoustic, nonslip and fire resistant properties that make it ideal for use on exhibition stands and at events, fashion shows, art displays, stage and theatre sets. It can be successfully laid on any hard, smooth surface, such as, hardboard, wood, concrete or stage decking.
MX Display used its EFI Vutek GS3250LX printer to output the graphic, while its installation team fitted it in just half a day, using adhesive to ensure that City Hall’s beautiful marble floor was left in pristine condition post removal.
MX Display floor it!Commenting on the project, Adrian Rushton, MX Display’s Manager Director said: “It was a very proud moment to see this compelling info- graphic brought to life in such an impressive space. Our Photo Floor product encouraged crowd interaction and enabled the children to really explore the pollution levels relating to the different areas.”
Kate Findlay, from the City Hall was equally delighted with the flooring. She said: “The event went extremely well and everyone was very impressed with the map – including the Mayor – so we’d like to give a huge thank you to MX Displays, who managed to get the graphic measured, printed and installed within a very short timeframe!”
