New Lead Sponsor for the British Sign Awards

Signfab UK in partnership with Current, powered by GE, are the lead sponsor of the BSGA’s 2017 British Sign Awards.

“We are really excited about joining forces with GE and believe that the British Sign Awards provides a great platform to announce this great partnership and to promote our continuing dedication to the UK sign industry,” said Mike Smith, General Manager at Signfab UK.

“We are delighted to welcome Signfab UK with Current, powered by GE, as our principal sponsor for the 2017 Awards,” said David Catanach, Director of the BSGA.  “It is great to see one of the stalwarts of the sign industry in partnership with a world leader in LED technology and we wish them well in their joint venture.   Their joint involvement in the awards provides a perfect launch platform for the new partnership and demonstrates their commitment to the sign industry in the UK.”

Signfab is now in its 17th year and in that time it has grown to become the largest trade only sign manufacturer in the country, producing all its signage in-house at two sites in Leicester.

The new agreement with GE will include significant research and development for the use of all GE products within the signage manufactured by Signfab.

“Our aim is to enable our customers to  have access to the latest and most efficient lighting solutions together with the most suitable sign constructions, whatever the application, “ added Mike Smith.

He also said that for the coming year they would be promoting  a range of educational programmes for sign businesses which will take place at their Leicester headquarters.

“Many of these will be delivered by independent sign consultants and will also includes tours of our facilities to help visitors improve their knowledge and understanding of sign making and the products and services on offer as well as providing a chance to meet, face to face, the dedicated people at Signfab who deliver the service and products expected of us.”

Current, powered by GE, is a world leading developer and manufacturer of LED illumination systems for the signage industry.  GE invented the first visible LED in 1962 and has been at the forefront of the technology ever since.

This is particularly so for signage illumination since the introduction of the revolutionary Tetra minimax LED module with Optilens in 2010.

With a comprehensive portfolio of LED signage products, Current, powered by GE, is ideally placed to provide  a one-stop illumination solution for most signage applications.

“Couple this with superior lens technology,  class-leading energy efficiency and outstanding quality and reliability, it really does provide an outstanding opportunity for the professional sign maker,”  said Mike Smith.

A spokesman for Current, powered by GE, said they were really pleased to be partnering with Signfab UK.  “Together we will be bringing the best of both worlds to the trade signage industry and firmly believe it is a win/win for both Signfab’s trade customers and their end clients.”

Current, powered by GE, has its global headquarter in Boston, USA and its European headquarters in London.  Its centres of excellence for R&D, application support, manufacturing and logistics are strategically located throughout the world.
