Manchester-based PFI Group has announced its second significant acquisition this year, having recently concluded the purchase of Lofthus Signs in Aberdeen.

Lofthus Signs, which was founded in 1951, operates from its base in Aberdeen and is the largest signage company in the North of Scotland. Additionally, the company has particular expertise in industrial engraving and the supply of signs to the offshore oil and gas industry, thus adding further unique manufacturing capabilities to the PFI Group.

Lofthus Signs will continue to operate as an independent company and the existing management team will be led by Sign Plus MD, James Barbour, who will ensure that Lofthus Signs maximises the supply chain opportunities and synergies that exist within the wider PFI Group.

PFI Group now comprises PFI Signs, GB Sign Solutions, Sign Plus, HT Screenprint and Lofthus Signs.  Further acquisitions are planned for the current financial year, in line with PFI Group’s current growth strategy.

Darren McMurray, PFI Group CEO commented: “These are truly exciting times for PFI Group and we are delighted to welcome Lofthus Signs and its employees to the PFI family. This acquisition will add significantly to group revenue whilst also increasing our overall manufacturing capabilities and further enhancing our overall presence in the UK sign industry.”
