PPS goes back to school!

PPS goes back to school!

Established 27 years ago and located on the docklands in Preston, Palmer Publicity Services (PPS)has evolved from a company that originally specialised in automotive public relations and marketing, to one that offers creative graphic design, signs, exhibition displays and large format digital printing.

With in-house design, production and installation facilities, together with a wide range of print and cut equipment, including a UV flat bed printer, HP Latex roll-to-roll printers, plus a flatbed cutter and router, the company now serves as a one-stop-shop that fulfills all of its customers’ visual communication requirements.

Most recently, PPShas been producing a wide range of sign and graphics packages for schools and academies throughout the North West and beyond.  These include everything from interior and exterior signage, to reception displays and wall murals, as well as prospectus material for open evenings.

Noel Palmer, founder and Managing Director of PPS, explained:

“Over the past 12 months we have seen the potential for this type of work expand to include large areas of themed wall graphics, all of which are designed to expand the childrens’ imagination and to enliven and enhance drab corridors with the use of colour.”

PPS has produced a variety of different designs, ranging those that highlight a school’s core values, to those that depict woodland scenes and one that replicated the interior of a space ship!

Noel continued: “We work directly with head teachers to produce initial concepts and then provide pre-production mock-ups for approval. To produce the final graphics, we use foamex, self-adhesive vinyls with textured laminates or heavy duty textured wallpaper, all of which are robust and hardwearing enough to withstand the rigours of everyday school life.”

The projects are often further complemented with the use of one-way vision film on the windows, large PVC banners to beautify drab classrooms and exterior shelters. On one occasion a bus was converted into a themed reading room!

Noel concluded:  “Our designers adore working on these projects as it enables them to achieve of level of creativity that is rarely allowed when working on more commercially oriented work and we are delighted to be able to add this new specialism to our repertoire.”
