Reade Signs keeps up with demand with an EFI Vutek LX3

Signage and wayfinding specialist Reade Signs, has recently installed a new EFI Vutek LX3 printer supplied by CMYUK.

Reade Signs has enjoyed steady growth over the last three years, with business increasing by 20 percent year-on-year since 2015. This is the result of diversification, with the company expanding into the architectural and wayfinding markets, while also retaining its core business in the property signage sector.

It manufactured and installed over six miles of hoarding graphics last year, as well as building wraps, illuminated sign boxes, site signage, flagpoles, flags and banners, with over 2,500 different jobs passing through its Hampshire factory in 2017 alone.

Reade Signs’ EFI Vutek LX3 Pro, which is one of only 11 machines currently operating within the UK, is a versatile 3.2 metre hybrid flatbed/roll-fed printer, which can be used with substrates up to 5.08cm thick. It offers eight colours plus white, plus multilayer printing and resolutions of true 600 or 1000 dpi. Its powerful LED curing facility not only meets the growing demand for higher quality with quicker turnaround times but also provides the capability to print on to new and unique substrates, thus opening the door to new application possibilities. Furthermore, it greater image consistency, reduced waste and lower energy costs provides users with a more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly print solution.

Andy Fergus Smith, Managing Director at Reade Signs said: “We specialise in printing weatherproof hoardings and regularly invest in state-of-the-art production equipment. The EFI Vutek LX3 has enabled us to further increase the quality of our production and to be more competitive.”

The company has previously bought several printers from CMYUK, and Andy reported: “We’ve always found CMYUK’s advice and support to be excellent. They are a trusted partner to our business, so it was a bit of a no-brainer to work with them again when purchasing our newest asset.”

Commenting on the installation, Tony Winterbottom, Senior Digital Sales Consultant at CMYUK, said: “To minimise downtime we installed the LX3  over a weekend and then went straight into setting up the software and training Reade Signs’ staff on the following Monday and, by Tuesday evening it was running live jobs!”
