RHM selects a Kongsberg from CMYUK
Based in Barnet, north London, RHM Event Graphics was originally founded in 1964 as a traditional signwriting company, but now specialises in the production of exhibition and event graphics for clients such as the V&A, Pink Buddha and Imagination.
Recently, the company, whichboasts its own design studio, together with a well-equipped workshop and in-house installation team, decided to upgrade its finishing facilities, a decision that prompted its visit to wide format specialist CMYUK’s Shrewsbury showroom earlier this year. One of the machines it viewed there was the Esko Kongsberg X44 digital cutter, which according to RHM’s Stuart Boyce, was so impressive that the purchasing decision was an easy one.
He said: “It was great to see the X44 first hand, as we were able to see its full potential. It’s a really robust machine that combines a roll-fed conveyor system for use with flexible media and a powerful 3KW router for rigid substrates. Furthermore, it is really easy to use, as the i-cut production console analyses incoming files and automatically selects the right tool, the correct table settings and the cutting sequence. When the machine was installed, CMYUK’s engineer profiled all of the different media we use, so all we have to do now is choose the material from a drop-down list, which enables all members of staff to operate it.”
Stuart concluded: “We’re now able to process work that wouldn’t previously have been possible and we are learning more about the Kongsberg’s capabilities every day. It’s fair to say that we are more than happy with our investment!”
