Tamworth based display solutions specialist Daytona Visual Marketing has been able to greatly enhance the quality of the work it produces on behalf of a number of blue-chip clients following installation of an AXYZ 6010 router supplied by AXYZ International.
The machine has been used to handle a wide range of materials, including DIBOND, FOREX, aluminium and acrylic, as well as enabling the larger sheet processing, more accurate cutting and faster turnaround on finished products that the company’s rapid business growth has demanded.
Formed in 1979, Daytona Visual Marketing is a well-known and much respected provider of high-quality display solutions founded on a full design, print (both screen and digital) and fabrication facility for the graphics industry. It operates from a purpose-built 17,000 square feet production site, manned by a team of highly skilled and trained display professionals. A key factor to the company’s continuing success has been investment in a wide range of technically advanced production equipment. This includes flatbed and roll-to-roll digital presses, large format screenprinting systems and CNC finishing solutions to which the AXYZ 6010 router has made a major and ongoing contribution.
The 6010 router installed at Daytona is part of the AXYZ 6000 family of large-format machines that are renowned for their robust construction and the speed and accuracy with which they can handle large sheets of material under continuous operation. The router has an impressive 3,048 x 2,095mm processing area that can be configured to include a host of additional machining options, such as the automatic tool change (ATC) facility and the new helical rack and pinion drive system that feature on the router installed at Daytona. This latter production enhancement greatly reduces machine wear by comparison with conventional rack and pinion drive systems, due to the presence of multiple gear teeth that spread the workload more evenly, leading to much faster feed rates and smoother, quieter and more precise cutting under all operating conditions.
Managing Director of Daytona Visual Marketing, Andy Wassall commented: “We chose AXYZ International as a working partner and not simply as a machine supplier. Routing and cutting is only a part of what we do but it is everything in which AXYZ specialises. We have been impressed not only by the reliability and quality of the machine but also by the way in which AXYZ engineers work closely with us to achieve our clients’ requirements and, in particular, those which are more difficult or challenging and which demand a high level of ingenuity, versatility and adaptability. Having access to AXYZ International’s considerable knowledge base has enabled us to complete some very complex and high quality projects for a number of well-known companies like Virgin Media for which we recently produced bespoke LED-illuminated in-store displays.’
