SDEA to host seminars on GDPR and R&D Tax Credits

The Shop & Display Equipment Association (SDEA) is holding an afternoon business briefing in Central London on 21st March, during which it will present two equally important seminars. The first will cover the upcoming data protection changes, while the second will explain how companies can receive thousands in tax breaks when they develop new or improved products, processes, services or systems.

Data protection is not just a matter of best practice; failure to comply with current regulations could result in substantial fines and reputational damage.

To help its member to understand the current changes to the law being implemented in May of this year, the Association has commissioned Adrian Burns, Principal Cyber and Information Security Consultant at SBC Solutions to reveal what GDPR is and to advise companies on what they need to do to ensure compliance in the digital age.

Attendees will also hear from Paul Attridge, Senior Tax Director at Beavis Morgan LLP, who will discuss how companies can receive valuable tax credits for their products. Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credits are Government tax breaks designed to encourage innovation. For example, Beavis Morgan recently helped an advertising agency claim a £113,000 tax benefit for technical innovation in digital marketing.

The event is free for retailers and SDEA members to attend, but booking is essential as space is limited. It will be held at the Ibis Styles Hotel on Southwark Bridge Road, a five-minute walk from London Bridge rail and underground stations.
