SDUK announces change to next event in it online series
Sign & Digital UK (SDUK) has announced a change in the date of the next event in the Sign & Digital Online series, which is now entitled Cutting and Laser Technology. Hosted on Hopin (the online events platform), it will take now take place on Wednesday, 21st October, from 10am-12pm, instead of 8th October, as previously stated.

The Cutting and Laser Technology event will provide delegates with an exclusive viewing of the latest developments in flatbed cutters, laser cutters, and CNC routers, from the industry’s leading manufacturers, while also learning more about the latest products, trends and business opportunities available for signmakers that are looking to use cutting and laser technology to open up new revenue streams.

As well as adding a high degree of automation to digital cutting workflows, flatbed cutters are especially useful for companies printing direct-to-substrate on rigid materials. Almost all of the popular models currently available offer scalable entry-level machines, thus enabling users to add a range of cutting tools to suit their specific purposes. Alternatively, they can also be supplied fully loaded with feature rich speciality tools, too.

In addition, by bringing print finishing in-house, sign and print companies can further expand their range of print service offerings and differentiate themselves from their competitors, while also increasing their profits.

The SD Online event will cover such topics as dealing with the demand for cut acrylic, both now and beyond COVID-19, and how to choose between outsourcing or bringing cutting operations in-house, while also showcasing the latest in cutting and laser technologies. It will also provide delegates with an interactive opportunity to ask questions and quiz experts from all areas of the industry, including manufacturers, suppliers, and signmakers.

The keynote presentation will include a business perspectives session from Bryan Jater and Alex Beckingham of Trotec Laser, who will discuss the reasons why acrylic processing should be accommodated in-house. Their session will be complemented by contributions from a wide range of leading industry suppliers, including Zund, AG CAD, Blackman & White, ITC and more, all of which will have technical experts on-hand to answer questions and provide useful hints, tips and inspiration.
