Sign & Digital UK surpasses visitors’ expectations

Sign & Digital UK, which has long been regarded as the UK’s premier event for the sign, digital printing and display sectors, has, according to a recent survey*, surpassed the industry standard for visitor satisfaction, with 85 percent of attendees describing their overall experience as good or excellent and thus outperforming the industry benchmark of 79 percent. In addition, customer satisfaction has also increased by six percent since 2014.

With a history that stretches back for nearly 30 years, the show, which takes place annually at Birmingham’s NEC,has more than achieved its original aim of supporting and reflecting the sign, display solutions and digital printing sectors and continues to evolve in line with the changing pace of modern methods of visual communication.

Thus, the 2016 event will introduce scheduled live demonstrations and also offer an enhanced free educational seminar programme, as well as a new meeting booking facility, which will enable exhibitors and visitors to schedule face-to-face meetings so that they can plan ahead to make the best and most effective use of their time.

Commenting on the event, Event Director, Rudi Blackett, said: “We have worked hard to establish the show as a trusted brand and we continue to communicate closely with our exhibitors to ensure that they have all of the information they require to make informed choices. This is done in two ways, firstly by providing the useful feedback we receive from customer surveys, and secondly, by conducting an independent audit of visitor attendance by the BPA.  We are very aware that for exhibitors, an exhibition is only as good as the visitors that attend.

“The audit, which is conducted in accordance with the Association of Event Organisers’ (AEO)** Rules for calculation of statistics for AEO member events, provides a really clear picture of both visitor numbersand the type of visitor that attends the show. Face-to-face meetings at exhibitions are, despite the rise in online and social media, still one of the most effective ways of attracting new business and consolidating relationships with existing customers. In addition, the provision of independently confirmed visitor numbers and demographics is extremely reassuringto exhibitors and enables them to make properly informed decisions.”

Francis Stones from the BPA added: “Sign & Digital UK’s annual BPA event audit*** demonstrates that it connects the right buyers, with the right vendors, within the right context. It verifies both the size and quality of the audience and is designed to help organisersto establish their credibility, build loyalty and create higher-level relationships with their exhibitors. The verified data also reassures that sponsors and exhibitors that their marketing communications spend is being effectively directed.”

Sign & Digital UK 2016 will take place at the NEC, Birmingham on 19th-21st April and trade visitors can attendfree of charge.
