Birkenhead-based Fusion Graphix has increased its production capabilities and improved workflow, thus saving time and money, with an investment in a CWT application table supplied by PaperlinX.

CWT is the new generation of working table designed by Patrik Johansson, the creator of the Rolls Roller, which is ideal for mounting self adhesive onto rigid sheets, laminating films and cutting materials.

Established two years ago, Fusion Graphixhas committed to investing for growth. Co-Directors Martin McLaughlin and Pete Thorningfirmly believe that expenditure on new kit that delivers a rapid return, is money well spent, especially when it enables them to offer a faster turnaround and improved range of services to its customers.   Accordingly, one of the main reasons for its investment in the CWT work table was its potentialfor delivering cost and efficiency savings in all areas of production.

Martin McLaughlin commented “As soon as we saw the CWT, we immediately spotted an opportunity to significantly speed up the workflow process and lower our production costs.”.

He continued“It is so easy to use, delivered immediate production benefits and we genuinely don’t know how we coped without it. We’re now outputting jobs much faster than before. Nowdays, we simply layout the board, put the print on top, lower the roller, fold it halfway and take off the backing paper – it  takes us a couple of minutes, rather than the half hour or more we previously spent.

“What’s more, once the job is lined up, it can be handled by a single operator as opposed to two – which is another significant time saving and enables us to produce more in less time, something that is also having a positive effect on our profitability.”

The fact that the CWT is delivered to the customer in components for safer transport makes it much easier to install and since in  In Fusion Graphix case, the mounting table is on a mezzanine floor  that is accessed via a narrow staircase, this was a real value add.

The CWT is feature rich, having a linear guide for moving the roller up and down, thus reducing the risk of future air leaks. It is equipped with an ergonomic handle and a extra low friction boom for smoother work; features split tempered glass, which is safe and more durable in use; has adjustable feet and wheels for ease of movement and convenient side pockets for materials and storage space.
