Soyang Europe makes its debut at 100% Design

To mark its debut at this year’s 100% Design exhibition, which will take place at London’s Earl’s Court on 17th-20thSeptember; wide format media supplier Soyang Europe will be showcasing two of the latest and most exciting products from its ever-expanding range of bespoke surface coverings.

Taking centre-stage will be G-Floor, which is set to change traditional perceptions of what is possible in the field of customised flooring. This high-tech new media, developed and manufactured in the United States, is based on a high density, clear, flexible PVC substratethat can be custom printed on the underside, using a grand-format printer in conjunction with either UV or solvent inks.

As the image is printed underneath the media, with the thick wear layer protecting the integrity of the graphic, G-Floor can be successfully used in all high wear areas, offering a high level of durability, together with low noise and sound absorbing characteristics.  It is easily installed and repositionable, hygenic and also has excellent load-bearing capability.Further, the wide range of different finishes provides a safe, effective and hard-wearing grip surface,making it suitable for use in the broad spectrum of retail, corporate and public space applications, with the image being entirely personalised to suit the customer’s precise requirements.

Mark Mashiter, Managing Director of Soyang Europe, explained: “Currently, no other product available offers such a high level of durability, nor such a wide range of finishes and widths. It can be used to provide striking and original flooring in retail outlets, restaurants, cinemas, vehicle showrooms, fitness centres, hotels, exhibition halls, stages, sporting venues and airports – in fact, in just about any space that requires flooring!””

G-floor is available in widths up to three metresand in thicknesses to support its use with virtually any kind of flatbed, roll to roll or hybrid grand format printer.

Soyang Europe’s G-Floor product is complemented by AlumiGraphics; a versatile, 100 percent recyclable, wide-format media made from pliable aluminium foil, whichfeatures a white finish that can be printed directly using a wide range of solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV inks.  It is durable and easy to use without the need for over-lamination. What’s more, it moulds naturally, without heat, and can be applied to virtually any rough or smooth textured surface.

Awarded the prestigious ‘Product of the Year’ by the Speciality Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), AlumiGraphics is available in two different surface finishes; ‘smooth’ for use on interior and exterior wall surfaces, such as brick, stucco, concrete or tiles and ‘grip’, which features a slip-resistant reflective surface, making it ideal for use on concrete, asphalt or paving.

Andrew Simmons continued: “The potential applications include everything from pavements, walkways, escalators and stairs, to car parks and elevators, thus facilitating the transformation of previously under-used surfaces, both inside and out, into cost-effective, revenue generating, marketing platforms.”

Soyang Europe which has traditionally provided media to the sign and graphics sector, believes that G-Floor and Alumigraphics will also appeal to a much wider market and will thus be using the 100% Design exhibition to nurture creative partnerships with architects, designers and marketers in order to fully develop the full potential of the products.
