Spiral Print makes PPB’s proBOND its ACM of choice
Macclesfield-based print specialist Spiral Print, offers the full gamut of printing options, including everything from long run litho to short run digital, and produces vinyl lettering, signage, exhibition graphics and hoarding panels.
Recently, the company was commissioned to supply ground boards for the newly promoted Lincoln City Football Club and tasked with producing over 50 panels, it had to source a suitable and economical ACM sheet that printed and converted efficiently, while also offering the appropriate levels of resilience and reliability.
Accordingly, Spiral Print sought the advice of its supplier of choice, PPB, which recommended its own range of proBOND ACM, a relatively new addition to PPB’s product portfolio, which has been specifically developed to offer customers a genuine high quality sheet that is equally appropriate for use or short-term digital print applications, or high-end corporate identity signage.
Using its Jetrix wide-format printer, Spiral Print printed directly onto the proBond panels before adding an anti-grafitti laminate to ensure maximum impact and durability.
Commenting on the result, Jason Carpenter, Production Manager for Spiral Print, said: “proBOND has all the properties required, including inherent strength, a brighter white colour, excellent ink adhesion and, most importantly, a very competitive price. Previously we’d experienced quality issues with ACM, including poor print quality and lack of adhesion to laminate. However, proBOND has been a revelation in terms of value for money and outstanding quality. It has printed, converted and laminated without issue and the overall feel and look of the product is far superior. What’s more, because it is such good value for money, we have found that our ‘hit rate’ from estimate to job conversion has been greatly improved, as we are able to be much more competitive in terms of pricing”.
