A stunning display with curve appeal
Tecna Display recently worked with specialist event consultants Recon to create a stunning display for ‘Meet in Reykjavik’ at the IBTM World exhibition in Barcelona, where its T3 System was used in combination with illumination fromWandlite.
IBTM is the leading global event for the meetings, incentives, conferences, events and business travel industry and ‘Meet in Reykjavik’ is the official convention bureau for Reykjavik and its surrounding areas.
The vibrant 58sqm promotional stand included a 5.5m long x 2m wide x 2.5m high display framework, which featured a unique sweeping curve on the outward facing side.Recon used the UK-manufactured T3 modular display system’s channel and fusion profiles to create the framework and Wandlite’s LED tube system to illuminate the UVdigitally-printed backlit fabric that wrapped both sides of the stand to provide a strikingly clean finish.
AdalsteinnSverrisson, Managing Director of Recon commented: “We used Wandlite for our backlighting because the light that it provides is bright white, 360 degrees and very easy to power. Added to that, it is almost unbreakable, so it can be safely transported and is thus ideal for use in on-site installations and in unconventional locations.”
The brief from ‘Meet in Reykjavik’ also stipulated that two large display monitors be incorporated on either side of the display and that a functional custom door be placed at the end, so that staff could use the display’s interior as storage space. Two members of the Recon team assembled the stand in under two days, including the installation and mounting of the display monitors, lighting and graphics.
Adalsteinn continued: “For this brief, logistics were key.Happily, as both we and our clientbased in Iceland, we were able to design and pre-build the stand in Reykjavik before transporting it to the show in Barcelona. We had to break it down into small units for easy shipping, so it was important that the system offered optimal flexibility and versatility without losing any of its display potential. The T3 System delivered everything we needed and more and everyone was very happy with the result. What’s more, the stand was also partially used by our client at another event in Iceland, which is a fantastic testament to its reusability!”
MukeshKansara, Senior Designer for Tecna Display added: “The clean finish and vibrant graphics created by Recon were stunning and the inclusion of the custom curves made it a very unique and eye catching display. Recon continues to produce clever and stunning displays with the T3 System.”
