The Clever Baggers step-up production
Based in Llanymynech, Powys, The Clever Baggers is a specialist textile printing company, which was founded in 2006 by husband and wife team Vivian and Louise Lacey-Johnson.
The company, which specialises in the production of a range of high-quality bags and printed homeware, including tea towels, tableware, cushion covers and aprons, recently moved into larger premises in order keep up with the increasing demand for its products and, at the same time it acquired a Mimaki CJV150-75 printer/cutter from CMYUK.
The Clever Baggars had previously owned a Mimaki machine, and since it had worked perfectly for many years, the company had no hesitation in purchasing another. Sarah Evans, Fulfilment Manager at The Clever Baggers, explained: “When it was time for an upgrade, it was a no-brainer to go with another Mimaki. The CJV150 is a shinier, larger version of our old machine and allows us to match to Pantone colours, which is a great advantage when you need to switch print method but want to achieve an exact colour match.”
The CJV150-75 has enabled the company to fulfill unique one-off orders within the gift market, while also satisfying volume production too. It combines fast printing speeds of up to 56.2sq.m/hr with a print resolution of up to 1,440dpi and offers a choice of inks, vibrant inks, including the new orange and light black, to deliver vibrant and impactful output that enhances every application.
Sarah Evans added: “The whole Purchasing process was seamless as CMYUK provided everything from initial advice and installation to training and after sales service – we couldn’t be happier!”
