The Sign Show 2020 to celebrate evolution of signs

Link Exhibitions, the organiser of the hugely successful The Print Show, has announced the launch of The Sign Show, a brand new event entirely dedicated to the UK sign industry.

The Sign Show will take place for the first time in 2020, on September 27th-29th at the NEC in Birmingham, where it will be co-located with its sister event, The Print Show, the only exhibition focused exclusively on the UK print sector.

For its debut event, The Sign Show will operate under the theme of ‘A Sign of Evolution’, and will provide a key platform for companies from all areas of the UK sign industry to showcase their latest products, solutions and technologies to customers from a wide range of different sign backgrounds.

This and its co-location alongside The Print Show, will provide visitors with all of the insights, inspiration and information they need to maximise the potential of every aspect of visual communication.

Chris Davies, Event Director of both The Sign Show and The Print Show, explained that the new event fills a huge gap in the market and will provide the UK sign sector with the ideal gathering point to catch up on all the latest developments in the industry.

He said: “The Sign Show will address all areas of the market, with the aim of helping sign companies of all shapes and sizes to identify the equipment and materials they need to succeed.

“What is unique about The Sign Show is that it will be the only event that focuses solely on UK signmaking and it will feature everything from A-boards and vinyl, to fixtures and fittings – the show will have something for everyone.”

Davies also highlighted that the show’s opening day will be on a Sunday, which is an entirely new concept in sign industry events.

He continued: “We understand that not all sign businesses will be able to make it to the show during the working week, so by including a weekend day, we are opening up the event to the entire industry. We want The Sign Show to be as accessible as possible, as our primary aim is to help signmakers to succeed.”

The Sign Show expects to welcome thousands of visitors from across the market and will thus be playing host to some of the industry’s leading names. However, visitors will also have access to a host of special in-show features, with Link Exhibitions offering a sneak preview of the delights to come next September.

The ‘It’s a Wrap’ area will enable visitors to discover more about the opportunities now available in vinyl wrapping, which has been a major growth area for some time. This will include everything from basic vehicle wraps, through to more unusual applications, such as mobile phones and tablets.

Elsewhere, the Diversification Zone will offer an insight into the opportunities available in peripheral markets, including promotional print and packaging.

In addition, as an added bonus for visitors and exhibitors, The Sign Show will also be featuring a special celebrity attraction, enabling visitors to meet three famous faces from the world of show business. Details of these special guests are currently under wraps, but Link Exhibitions has confirmed that all visitors will be able to take part in a live Q&A with the celebrities, have their photo taken with them and take away an autographed souvenir.

Another unique feature of The Sign Show is that it will be co-located with The Print Show, the UK’s leading print industry event, which regularly features some of the leading names in wide-format printing, including HP, Mimaki, Epson, Roland DG and EFI, all of which have exhibited over recent years.

The idea behind the co-location is to allow those sign companies that are already offering wide-format print services, together with those that are considering a move into the market, to discover more about the latest developments in wide format. Visitors will thus be able to cross freely between both events, as The Sign Show and The Print Show will take place in the same halls at the NEC.
