UK Sign and Print delivers support to Ukraine
Sign and print companies across the UK have answered Vism founder Dan Tyler’s call to support the people of Ukraine with donations of medicines, food, warm clothing and other practical items.

Dan posted his call for help on Linkedin last Monday, with the result that thousands of items have already been donated and delivered to Lviv in western Ukraine, whilst financial contributions, which will be used to purchase further supplies, are also being collected via a Go Fund Me page organised by FESPA UK.

Dan explained: This whole initiative has snowballed very quickly. At the beginning of last week, I started working with a contact in Lviv to raise cash donations so that they could buy medicines and other essentials. We then helped a couple of people in the Netherlands and France to move some items they’d collected over to Ukraine, and now we’ve ended up working as a team of volunteers in the UK and Europe to shift as much essential stuff over there as possible.”

He continued “Matt at Outdoor Logistics UK approached me on LinkedIn when he saw my post and we realised that there were lots of people willing to help and that we could get something going pretty quickly. The campaign then received a further boost when global logistic provider DSV offered its support and now the whole thing is really flying!”

Dan has created a website – printforukraine.co.uk – that lists printers, signmakers and industry suppliers that have volunteered to receive or collect donations of items from the list of items that are also provided on the site, for onward transport to a depot in Gravesend, Kent, where Outdoor Logistics UK is providing a hub and with assistance from DSV, is organising transportation to Poland.

Once the goods arrive in Poland, contacts at established volunteer organisations in Lviv, western Ukraine, move all of the donations across the border and begin the process of distributing them to those in need.

Dan concluded: “I’ve been absolutely blown away by people’s willingness to donate and to help in any way they can. I knew the industry wouldn’t let the people of Ukraine down, but the response has really exceeded my expectations and, I hope, also demonstrates to the Ukrainians that we are with them every step of the way. A huge thank you to everyone who has responded so far and please, keep the donations coming!”
