Ultima Displays installs a Durst Rhotex at its UK HQ
Ultima Displays has recently installed a Durst Rhotex 325 system at its UK headquarters in Corby. The installation of the new system is part of the company’s Centre of Excellences across Europe, where it serves more than 6,000 dealers across 28 countries.
The new dual-purpose printing system combines direct-to-textile printing with dye-sublimation transfer printing technology in a 3.2 metre wide machine. Depending on the application and fabric, it can instantly alternate between the paper transfer and the direct printing function onto polyester-based materials. In addition, the new Durst WTS printhead technology uses water-based dispersion ink to achieve exceptionally high print quality on a wide range of materials at speeds of up to 350 m²/hour.
Osvaldo Gallio, Managing Director at Ultima Displays, said: “The installation of this new technology is a landmark date in our history and will enable our customers to take on larger projects, secure in the knowledge that they can rely on Ultima Displays to deliver fantastic quality and a super-fast turnaround time.”
The robustly built Rhotex 325, the result of Ultima’s successful partnership with Durst, also features an integrated hot air dryer, automated nozzle cleaning system and additional features that help to facilitate 24/7 production. Ultima Displays has already installed a Rhotex 325 system at its offices in Nantes, France, as part of its three-year, £1.7 million investment plan, and has plans to roll two more out in Gdansk, Poland, and Padova, Italy from next year.
Osvaldo Gallio continued: “ “We feel it is important to harness the latest technology to help our customers meet the demands of an increasingly demanding customer base and now a total of 6,000 dealers across Europe will benefit from improved profits, consistent high quality and next-day delivery and thus enjoy thus a unique competitive edge.”
