Ultimate flexibility

Ultimate flexibility

Olson Visual recently used Tecna Display’s T3 system to create a stunning series of displays for a special exhibition on ‘Jewish Histories in Multi-Ethnic Boyle Heights’, which took place in the Leve Centre at UCLA, Los Angeles.

The large format digital graphics specialist used the T3 modular framework to create numerous display frames that supported a variety of information graphics and monitors.

For the graphics, Oison Visual elected to use a combination of Dibond and fabric, using Velcro to secure the Dibondto the T3 framework and silicon edging, fitted into T3 Silverlite inserts, for the fabric.

It also created a series of Perspex cases, which were used to display various artefacts, including old Yiddish typewriters and yearbooks, along with new technological mediums, such as digital maps and videos. Digital monitors, including screens and iPads, were screwed directly onto the framework.

Commenting on the selection of the T3 system, Jenna Kush, Olson Visual‘s Museum Consultant, explained: “We loved the clean lines of the design and the fact that it offered great flexibility in terms of the materials we could use to cover the framework, but equally important was the system’s modular composition.  The exhibition was on the third floor of the building and as there was no freight lift, ease of transportation was a key consideration.”

The framework featured T3 Airframe and Fusion tubing, which provided maximum versatility combined with ease of build. The installation was completed within five days.

Jenna added: “The client was very happy with the final result and couldn’t believe how we has completely transformed the conference room they use every day into a fully functional exhibition space. Although it was only open for a short time, the exhibition attracted hundreds of people and the Centre received such an enthusiastic visitor response that there are now plans for the exhibition to be shown at other Los Angeles institutions in the future.”
