First established in 2014 and based inLostallo, a beautiful and sparsely populated part of Misox, the Italian speaking part of Graubunden, Switzerland, Swiss Alpine Fish uses the Recirculating Aquaculture System to ensure that it is one of the cleanest and most sustainable fish farms in the world.
When the company needed a sign package for its 40-metre long wood-clad farm building, it commissioned W&Co to supply both exterior and wayfinding signage. Since Swiss Alpine Fish’s premises are set against the stunning backdrop of the Swiss Alps, W&Co was aware that the exterior signage needed to be sensitively conceived.
Accordingly, it produced afull set of super-sized halo-illuminated letters, measuring up 1500mm in height, which were further complemented by Swiss Alpine Fish’s salmon logo design measuring a massive 3000mm. This combination offers the twin benefits of environmentally appropriate aesthetics and maximum visibility.
W&Co also supplied a series of wayfinding post and panel signs, which also feature the Swiss Alpine Fish logo, plus some complementary lettering for the company’s adjacently located shop.
Julian Connor, the CEO of Swiss Alpine Fish pronounced himself delighted with the result. He said: “All of the signs look really great and the main exterior sign not only enhances our surroundings – it can literally be seen from miles around!
The signage has also proved beneficial for W&Co, as it has been shortlisted for the ‘Illuminated Sign of the Year’ category in the BSGA British Sign Awards, the winners of which will be announced on 9th November at a gala luncheon and presentation ceremony at the Athena in Leicester.
