Under the water under the sea…

Supplied by Antalis, an industrial-grade wall décor film has been used to transform a dull and unwelcoming reception area at a complex of luxury seafront apartments into a striking tropical statement piece that will, it is claimed, have a lasting impact on visitors.

The apartments offer five-star luxury accommodation but the reception area, with its plain white washed wall, did nothing to convey the premium holiday experience awaiting guests. Keen for the booking office to reflect the high-end interiors of the apartments, the owners turned to bespoke creative design and print service company Adverset Media Solutions for help. In view of the apartments’ location, it was decided to create a wall graphic with a vibrant tropical underwater theme using the Coala Supertack wall décor film from Antalis.

This high-tack 96-micron five-year film has been designed for rough and/or textured surfaces. It is ideal for graphic applications involving concrete, stucco and brick as well as low-energy hard-to-stick substrates like ABS plastics. The film can be printed using solvent, Latex or UV inks and can be applied to irregular surfaces and channels such as those found on breezeblock and similar building materials.

The end result of the graphics project was the stunning transformation of a dull breezeblock wall into an eye-catching visual graphics feature akin to a hand-painted wall art manifestation. Coala Supertack was considered to be the ideal material for this particular interior decor application, with the slightly increased cost of the material being more than compensated by the reduction in application time, its ease of use and the brilliant and the durability of the end result.
