Wrights Plastics and Mid West Displays report success

A year after Wrights Plastics bought Shrewsbury-based Mid West Displays, both companies report full order books and increased staffing levels, despite the uncertain market conditions.

Mid West Displays, which specialisesin the manufacture of interior and window display solutions, is also a leading supplier in the property sector. Commenting on the buy-out Clive Towe, the company’s Manager, said: “Obviously there is always uncertainty surrounding any buy-out, but we have gone from strength to strength. We have been able to use Wrights Plastics’ skills and equipment to create new product lines and expand into new markets and we’ve also recruited new members to our management and productions teams too. There is a really positive vibe in the business.”

Mike Wright, Managing Director of both Wrights Plastics and Mid West Displays.added: “Although Brexit came along barely three months after the buy-out, impacting on costs, supplies and buyer confidence, we’ve been able to use the additional manufacturing base of Mid West Displays to help us expand services, improve processes and minimise the impact of market uncertainty for our customers.”

The two companies participated in their first joint trade show at the recent EuroShop Retail Trade Fair in Dusseldorf, in order to boost their exporting potential andstrengthen their distributor and client networks across Europe, a venture which, according to Mike Wright, proved to be “very worthwhile”.
