Agfa UK celebrates opening of Inkjet Competence Centre
Agfa recently celebrated the opening of its new 3,500 sq.ft Inkjet Competence Centre in Rugby last week with a barbeque for customers and suppliers who enjoyed one of the first face-to-face gatherings the sign and print sectors have seen for some time.

The unveiling of the new showroom and training centre and the event itself, which was held on the 8th and 9th July, marked the culmination of months of planning and meticulous installation. The site now showcases Agfa’s best-selling Anapurna H2500i LED hybrid UV and its flagship Jeti Tauro H3300 LED press, which is aptly nicknamed ‘The Beast’. The showroom also cements the new partnership with Kongsberg PCS, which installed a high-end C-Series C60 cutting table. All of the equipment was in operation during the event in order to properly demonstrate the machines’ capabilities to the assembled visitors. There was also a running presentation on the latest Asanti 5.0 workflow by Graham Clark, Agfa’s well-known systems and applications specialist and Antalis was also present to introduce its latest viscom products, including an environmentally friendly board, banner and fabric alternatives, plus new, easy to install, tension frame systems from Easitex. In addition, Profitable Print Relationships’ Matthew Parker was on hand to advise how sign and print companies can best enhance their return-on-investment with tailored sales and marketing training.

Bobby Grauf, Agfa’s Sales Manager Inkjet, UK & Ireland, who is pictured above left with Agfa’s Graham Clark and Paul Fitch, enthused: “We were really pleased with the turnout over both days. Customers and suppliers came from across the UK to see the new centre and we were really grateful that they made the effort. Happily, the weather allowed us to provide plenty of ventilation, thus helping us to maintain a COVID-19-safe environment at all times. There was keen interest in all the solutions on show; so much so that an Anapurna H2500i LED was actually sold on the first day!”

The Inkjet Competence Centre is conveniently located just a few minutes’ drive from both the M1 and M6 motorways and is within walking distance of Rugby station. With the site now fully open, demonstrations and training can be booked by e-mailing icc.gb@agfa.com or by telephone on 020 8231 4027.
