Antalis expands its sustainable product portfolio

In response to increasing demand from customers looking for more sustainable alternatives to plastic-based products, the Antalis Visual Communications division has introduced Katz Display Board to its growing sustainable product portfolio.

Katz is an excellent, environmentally-friendly alternative to PVC and PUR foam boards for applications in the retail and POS sectors. Especially developed to withstand all store conditions, including variations in temperature and humidity, it is ideal for the production of in-store POS advertising and displays, retail displays, signs, floor standing display units, counter-top displays and retail décor. Its high quality, smooth white surface delivers excellent print results when used in conjunction with digital UV and latex ink technologies as well as screenprinting.

A laminated display board, Katz features a core of natural ground wood pulp, together with high quality coated paper liners that are applied to either side of the board using natural starch as an adhesive.

It is manufactured in the Black Forest area of Germany using locally-sourced PEFC-certified wood and environmentally-friendly production techniques that eliminate any bleaching or chemical processing. The factory employs a heat recovery system and two in-house hydro plants to maximise energy efficiency along with a closed water loop to conserve natural resources.

100 percent fibre-based, Katz can be recycled in normal waste-paper streams, but if it should be sent to landfill, it takes little more than a year to break down.

Katz Display Board is now available from Antalis in thickness options of 3mm and 5mm and a standard board size of 2440 x 1220mm, with bespoke sizes up to 2650 x 1500mm available to order.
