Combining form with function
The University of Lincoln’s city centre campus is being rebranded with the institution’s new logo, with help from Allen Signs.
The Lincoln-based signmaker worked closely with the university’s Marketing and Estates departments to develop signs that are both functional and in keeping with the gravitas of the new branding.
To date, Allen Signs has installed a 3m x 3m sign on the main administrative building, an illuminated monolith at the entrance to the main car park and a wayfinding system to help students, staff and visitors navigate their way around the Brayford Pool Campus.
The company has also printed the graphics for hoardings that currently surround the construction work underway at the university’s GCW Library and in the Main Administration Building, and the large banner displays that were used to welcome guests to Lincoln Castle during the recent graduation ceremonies.
Having installed one sign on the west elevation of the Main Administration Building, Allen Signs is now finalising the planning for the production and installation of five other signs, which will be positioned at the campus’ main entrance points.
