DecTek installs its fifth Titanium cutter from IGS
Having first invested in Titanium cutter, a Titanium 1816, in June 2020, which was swiftly followed by the purchase of a Titanium 3020, two Titanium 2516s and a Titanium 0806, digital print specialist DecTek has recently taken delivery of its fifth Titanium machine, a 2516 with router.

Based in Pontypridd in Wales, DecTek offers a wide range of digital printing services, including the production of banners, stickers, labels, packaging and signage to both end-users and trade customers.

Explaining his company’s decision to purchase the plethora of Titanium cutters, DecTek’s owner, Mike Beese (pictured left above) explained: “During the summer of 2020 we took the opportunity to review our business and devised a growth strategy for us and our partners. We have invested over £1m in new equipment and took on extra production space to offer an enviable range of digital print, cut and finishing technologies.

“The IGS team are a major part of this strategy, its Titanium cutter price and performance model coupled with the Titanium’s reliability has enabled us to expand our product offering to include short-run packaging, custom packaging, bespoke boxes, and transit packaging. We are targeting ‘low volume, high frequency’ work, typically with run lengths below 5,000.”

In January IGS received the award for 2021 European Distributor of the year from JWEI, the manufacturer of Titanium cutters. With twenty-one installations taking place during the year, the Titanium range has gained traction with many blue-chip companies.

Peter Flynn, Managing Director of IGS commented: “This award is a landmark achievement that we are particularly proud of. From a standing start in 2020, we now have forty-one installations nationwide. It was fitting that we received the award from Mike Beese, who has assisted us with many of our orders, from customers who have visited the DecTek site to see the Titanium cutters in operation.

“We can now compete and win orders that would have traditionally gone to the mainstream suppliers. Our installation base includes high-profile companies such as DecTek, Hamptons, Printed.Com, The Colour House and Zenith Print and Packaging. As our customers have confirmed, Titanium’s technical specifications and affordability are very hard to match. This year has already started well for us with orders for a Titanium 3032 with router from the Banner Company and a Titanium 2516 with router from Flexi Labels.

“In March we will launch a Titanium 0912, which offers a 900 x 1200 mm cutting area with the ability to automatically feed 100 sheets. This will be of great interest to the packaging industry I’m sure.”
