Drupa postponed until 2021

The litany of postponed exhibitions and events continues, with Drupa becoming the latest casualty, following the announcement by Messe Dusseldorf that the show will now take place on 20th-30th April, 2021.

Previously scheduled to take place on 16th-26th June this year, Drupa, which takes place every four years, is the world’s largest print show, attracting well in excess of 250,000 visitors over its 10-day duration period. This year the event was set to welcome 1800 exhibitors from around the globe.

Messe Düsseldorf is following the recommendation of the German Government and abiding by a general ruling issued by the city of Düsseldorf, which prohibits events involving more than 1000 people.

Its postponement follows hot on the heels of similar arrangements for FESPA Global Print Expo 2020, FESPA Brasil 2020, Sign & Digital UK 2020 and ISA Expo 2020.

Commenting on the decision to postpone, Werner M. Dornscheidt, Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe Düsseldorf, said: “The decision was taken in close consultation with our advisory boards and sponsoring associations and also reflects the wishes of individual industries. As their partner, we are currently doing everything in our power to reduce the economic losses suffered by our exhibitors.

“We would like to thank all partners for their excellent cooperation in making these difficult and time-sensitive decisions. We are pleased that together dates were found so quickly in order to provide all those affected with reliability in planning.”
