Hybrid Services to debut Mimaki 3D desktop printer

Hybrid Services, has announced the launch of the new Mimaki 3DFF-222 3D printer, a product co-branded with Sindoh, a manufacturer of 3D printers and multi-function printers based in South Korea.

The Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) solution, which will make its debut at Sign and Digital UK 2019, has been developed as an in-house design and production tool and is ideal for parts such as jigs used in direct-to-object printing and tools for producing three-dimensional signage.

Hybrid’s Chief Operations Manager, Brett Newman, commented: “The release of the Mimaki 3DFF-222 is a marker in the sand for sign and graphics companies looking for a cost-effective way of creating jigs for direct printing using Mimaki’s desktop UV flatbed printers. It’s a simple and straightforward way of manufacturing jigs in-house and expands the creative potential of Mimaki’s UJF Series printers.

“We’ll be showcasing it on the Hybrid stand at Sign and Digital UK at the NEC on 2nd-4th April, thus providing sign and print companies who are exploring the whole area of direct of object printing with jigs, plus those who are delving into the 3D signage market, with the perfect opportunity to examine this desktop solution.”

The Mimaki 3DFF-222, which will be commercially available from the end of April, prints in PLA material using easy-to-load filament cartridges. Printing parts up to 210mm x 200mm x 195mm (W x D x H), it offers remote monitoring of each print job through a Mimaki app.

Flexibility and ease-of-use are the machine’s key features and it’s compat footprint means that it can be neatly located in an office setting. In addition, it also seamlessly complements Mimaki’s range of sign and display printers and thus facilitates the efficient manufacturing of eye-catching and colourful indoor signs and channel letters, which are 3D printed first and then decorated using Mimaki’s UV printers in Long-Drop mode, produing high quality print on three-dimensional objects.

The Mimaki 3DFF-222 3D printer will be demonstrated on Hybrid’s stand at Sign and Digital UK (Stand F10).
